Our Day Walk Courses and Multi-Day Walk Courses provide a pathway to move from Assistant Leader to an Leader, and from day walks to 3-day multi-day walks, to more remote and rugged walks. Each course builds on the previous course.

Basic Skills Bushwalking Course

Basic Skills Bushwalking Course

Course code: BSBC

  • Attend 2 evening theory sessions
  • Attend an overnight training camp

Learn the secrets, tricks and techniques to lightweight overnight bushwalking. The course is designed to provide individuals with the knowledge to comfortably participate in a self sufficient overnight bushwalk.

Day Walk Leader Training Program

Day Walk Leader Training Course

Course code: DWLTC

  • Attend a Day Walk Leadership course
  • Complete the Day Walk Leadership course workbook
  • Submit a walk planning project
  • Submit Risk Assessment for a Day Walk
  • Log the required number of led walks
  • Complete a walk plan
  • Undertake a practical assessment

Completion of this course (including final assessment) will allow you to become a qualified leader during day walks.

Bushwalking Leadership Program

Bushwalking Leadership Assistant Course

Course code: BLAC

  • Complete the e-learning course component
  • Attend the 3 Day Skills Workshop
  • Attend the 3 day Walk Workshop
  • Submit a Logbook of Experience

Become an accredited Assistant Walk Leader with this nationally recognised course. This course differs from the Day Walk Leadership Certificate Course as it trains you in assisting a leader on multi-day walks up to 3 days.

Cost:

*Final costing will be based from and interview and training plan which will include any RPL or Credit Transfer that may be applicable.

  • Complete the Online Learning
  • Attend 3 Day Skills Workshop
  • Attend 3 Day Walk Workshop
  • Attend 3 Day Technical Workshop
  • Submit a Logbook of Experience

Become an accredited Walk Leader with this nationally recognised course. This course differs from the Bushwalking Assistant Leadership Certificate as it trains you as a leader on multi-day walks up to 3 days.

Advanced Bushwalking Leadership Course

Course code: ABLC

Become an accredited Walk Leader with this nationally recognised course. This course differs from the Bushwalking Leadership Certificate as it trains you as a leader with a high degree of skill and experience suitable for leading longer bushwalks, including prolonged expeditions in remote and difficult mountain areas.
